Youth in Europe Workshop: ”I Am a European Citizen” – Empowering Young People to Take Action

On April 18th and 19th, 2024, Aktyvistai Association hosted a dynamic workshop titled "I Am a European Citizen" in Kaunas, Lithuania. This event provided young people with the opportunity to learn about ongoing changes in the city, discover the principles of local governance, and explore ways they can contribute by submitting their ideas and initiatives to their community.

With the upcoming European Parliament and presidential elections on the horizon, the workshop also featured valuable insights from Vaidą Pranauskienę, who shared key advice on how youth can engage in the political process and make their voices heard.

The meeting also focused on the core principles of active citizenship, with discussions on how young people can create and implement initiatives that address their needs and priorities. We emphasized the importance of taking action and making a difference, not just dreaming about it!

The workshop included a review of the Youth in Europe training modules, and we also discussed the upcoming Video Contest about the European Union, civic engagement, and the opportunity to win a trip to Brussels!
